Carrie Wylie has been a devoted member of the NF Network family for over 10 years, currently leading our #NFStrong events in Memphis, TN. She embodies generosity and is inspired daily by her daughter Kaitlyn, who has NF1. Carrie expresses her gratitude, saying, "I am thankful for our strong family and friends who support Kaitlyn through her daily fight against NF pain. The power of prayer and love gives her strength on tough days."
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Kaitlyn, who adores baby dolls, received a Real Care doll named Lilly a few years ago. After high school, she dreams of working as a teacher's assistant, despite the challenges of managing her SSI services. Driven by a desire to give back, Kaitlyn began bringing Lilly to retirement communities, setting up monthly Baby Doll Therapy sessions at The Villages in Germantown with the help of her aide, Lori Gresham.
The residents have welcomed Lilly with open arms, and Kaitlyn even saved up to buy a baby boy doll named Johnny Roy to accompany them. This initiative has filled her with joy, pride, and purpose as she connects with her new friends through Lilly and Johnny Roy. At the Villages of Germantown Volunteer Appreciation event this summer, Kaitlyn was honored for her incredible commitment to spreading joy in the community. Her mother beams with pride over the positive impact she is making, and we share in that pride!
