We are thrilled to introduce Maggie, a SketchNF Superhero! She is a dedicated participant in the auction, having taken part four times, and continues to inspire us with her incredible story and artwork.

"My name is Maggie, and I am 12 years old. I’m in the 6th grade and have a passion for skiing, swimming, crafts, playing with my dogs, and spending time with my sister. I was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) when I was six years old, which has resulted in many neurofibromas throughout my body. These often cause pain in my legs and back. This year, I underwent significant surgery in Boston to remove a tumor from my spine. I also enjoy teaching others about NF and working on fundraising efforts for NF research.

This year, I chose to draw three things that bring me happiness. My first drawing is of my favorite stuffed animal, Mexico Dog. His name comes from the fact that I got him in Mexico when I was one year old, and he accompanies me to all my surgeries and hospital stays. My second drawing is a beach sunset; I love swimming, and my favorite vacation was when my family traveled to the beach in Costa Rica. Finally, my last drawing is of the mountains. Living in Colorado, I treasure my time in the mountains, whether I'm skiing in the winter or camping in the summer. I followed a drawing tutorial for this artwork, and I’m really proud of it! The titles of my drawings are "Mexico Dog," "Beach Sunset," and "Mountain Time."
