The NF Network is proud to announce the awardee of the first year of funding of the NF Network Research Program, Project Dream. This new program is dedicated to providing hope for individuals living with NF by stimulating innovative research. Our Scientific Advisory Committee, (SAC) chaired by Justin Jordan, M.D., M.P.H., has provided expert guidance in assessing and recommending proposals for funding.

The inaugural awardee of Project Dream is:

Dr. Thomas Wilson, Stanford University

“Identification of Painful Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors

using Sigma-1 Receptor Radioligand and PET/MRI”

Announcing round two of funding for the NF Network Research Program, Project Dream:

We seek proposals to promote novel scientific inquiry in neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis. Grants are typically awarded for 1 to 2 year periods, covering direct costs up to $50,000 per year. The SAC may, in some cases, recommend a grant to supplement funding from another source.

The NF Network invites applicants to submit discovery-phase proposals with the potential to generate proof of concept within a year or two. A successful project should then become eligible for larger grants from governmental and/or pharmaceutical institutions. Letters of Intent to apply for a grant are due on August 1.
