On September 6, NF Network hosted a successful "Meet the Docs" Lunch and Learn event in Georgia, bringing together families, patients, and healthcare professionals at the Marietta History Center for an afternoon of education and connection. The program commenced with an inspiring personal story from one of our NF Ambassadors, which you can read about HERE.
Samantha Blain, Patient Education Manager at Alexion, shared her insights on "Managing Stress and Cultivating Wellness," offering practical tools and approaches that attendees could easily incorporate into their daily lives to foster mental and emotional resilience.
Following that session, Dr. Rebecca Brown of UAB delivered an engaging and highly informative session on “Everything You Need to Know About NF-Related Skin Bumps,” providing practical knowledge and strategies for managing one of the most visible and common challenges faced by individuals living with neurofibromatosis.
The event concluded with a compelling presentation from Dr. John Henson of Augusta University on "Family Planning and the Use of Preimplantation Testing," providing valuable insights into advancements in reproductive health and genetic considerations.
The spirit of community, expert knowledge, and patient-focused education made the Lunch and Learn an uplifting experience for all attendees. We are grateful to local ambassadors Sarah Heft, Molly Wilson, and Hilary Jordan and their families for their contributions.
We invite you to join us for future events in Georgia, including the "IllumiNights" Zoo Walk in December 2025 and an #NF Strong Concert in April 2026. Sign up to stay informed and continue this journey of inspiration and connection with the NF Network.
