Dr. Bradley Welling, MD, PhD, FACS, a specialist in hearing loss related to NF2-associated tumors at Harvard Medical School and Mass Eye and Ear/Mass General, will present on advances in hearing preservation and restoration for individuals with NF2, including early diagnosis and intervention, hearing preservation surgery, auditory brainstem and cochlear implants, emerging drug therapies, and gene therapy.

Following his presentation, Leah Manth, who has NF2-SWN, and her father, John Manth, of NF Network and NF Northeast, will host a panel discussion exploring communication strategies and hearing support options, including hearing assistive technology, American Sign Language (ASL), lip-reading techniques, service dogs, and home safety adaptations that can enhance independence and quality of life for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
