With Angela Hirbe, M.D., Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics / Director, Adult Neurofibromatosis Clinical Program
Division of Oncology, Sarcoma Section at Washington University School of Medicine
We invite you to an educational meeting featuring Dr. Angela Hirbe, a Project Dream awardee and Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Hirbe is also the Director of the Adult Neurofibromatosis Clinical Program at Washington University School of Medicine.
In this meeting, she will discuss her groundbreaking research on how the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 8 influences the development and treatment resistance of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs). This severe cancer affects individuals with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). By exploring how this genetic alteration impacts cell behavior and drug response, the research aims to identify new and more effective targeted therapies to improve survival for these patients.
