Dr. Mislen Bauer, Clinical Geneticist at Nicklaus Children's Hospital
Dr. Bauer received her medical training at Universidad Javieriana School of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia. Her qualifications include a Pediatric Fellowship in the Division of Genetics at the University of Miami, Florida. Currently, she serves as a Clinical Genetics Consultant at Genzyme Genetics in Miami and as a Clinical Geneticist at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Additionally, she is the International Coordinator for the Medical Exchange Program between Hospital Infantil "Lorencita Villegas de Santos" in Bogotá and Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Dr. Bauer is the Director of the Neurofibromatosis Center at Nicklaus Children's Hospital and also works as a Medical Director and Pediatric Consultant at Children's Medical Services in Miami. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Samantha Blain, Patient Education Manager
Samantha is an engaging speaker who frequently works with the neurofibromatosis community. Her background includes being a dedicated bilingual Doctoral Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in medical affairs, research, and patient education. In her presentation, she will discuss strategies for navigating stress and cultivating wellness. Participants will gain practical tools tailored for the NF community to help reclaim their calm and improve well-being.
