A Surgeon's Approach to Schwannomas and Neurofibromas - an Educational Webinar

7:00 pm CST/ 5:00 pm PST

In this webinar, Dr. Wilson will review the types of benign nerve sheath tumors, including the most common tumors involved in neurofibromatosis, namely schwannomas and neurofibromas. Dr. Thomas will review how these tumors grow and the differences between the two tumor types.

Dr. Wilson will try to answer two major questions: 1. When should you consider removal of a tumor? and 2. What are the risks associated with tumor removal? Finally, he will discuss warning signs and when you should be worried about your tumor. All of this will be done from a surgeon’s perspective, with a focus on the special challenges that are present in making decisions with patients who have multiple tumors. Ultimately, the goals are for you to have a better understanding of your condition, when to be worried, and the surgical options available for treatment of your tumors.
